WILCOX, Hugh D. Sr.
"Ted"
Age 87, of Painter Run Road, Gaines, PA, died August 11, 2008 at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of M. Claudine Jones Wilcox who passed away January 27, 1998. Ted was born June 25, 1921 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late Lavern and Carrie VanOrder Wilcox. He was self-employed for over thirty years at Ted's Esso of Wellsboro, and then worked at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in maintenance, retiring after ten years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Ted was of the Baptist faith, a mason of Wellsboro Lodge #317 F. & A.M., and an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed Penn State football, small motor repair and enjoyed working outdoors. Surviving are son, Hugh Donald (Judy) Wilcox, Jr., of Wellsboro; grandchildren, Chad (Tonya) Wilcox, Matt Wilcox and Megan Wilcox; close friend, Wilda Eberenz of Wellsboro. Ted was predeceased by a son, Michael L. Wilcox; granddaughter, Amy Hollenbeck Zinck; and four sisters. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2008, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a "Life Celebration Home", 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Deacon Henry E. Koch officiating. If desired, memorials may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 6003, Albert Lea, MN 56007-6603. www.lifecelebration.com.
