DEAN, Anna M.
"Anne"
A long time resident of Wellsburg, NY went home to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, August 14, 2008 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility where she had been receiving care. Born on July 18, 1922 in Vestal Center, NY Anne was the daughter of Collins & Ruth Nevel Abbey. She married John E. Dean on June 6, 1940 in Binghamton and they had just celebrated their 68th anniversary. Together they raised a close and loving family who survive. Children, John A. (Cynthia) Dean, Mesquite, TX; Thomas G. Sr. (Shirley) Dean, Wellsburg, NY; David L. (Christy) Dean, El Cajon, CA; Ruthanne C. (Joseph Jr.) Doucette, Hingham, MA; Six grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (Willard) Davis, Mechanicsburg, PA; a brother, Donald (Audrey) Abbey, Binghamton, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. A born again Christian, Anne possessed a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She attended Bentley Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed caring for her home and always made visitors feel welcome with a warm smile and wonderful cooking. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway Southport on Tuesday August 19, 2008 between the hours of 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:15 p.m. with the Reverend James O. Mott officiating. Graveside services in the Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg will take place at the families convenience.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Anne was such a blessing to us at Bentley Creek Baptist Church. We loved her dearly and will truely miss her. There is no doubt she is walking with our Lord on streets of gold! We hold you, the family, up in prayer and ask for God's comfort durng this difficult time.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of dear Anna, yet there is rejoycing in heaven and that helps us cope.
