Betty McQuay Obituary

MCQUAY, Betty
Age 76, of Elmira passed away at her home the day before her 77th birthday. Born August 19, 1931 in Bradford County, PA. She was the daughter of Avery and Pauline Jones Edsell. She married Audett W. McQuay on August 14, 1953, who predeceased her on March 5, 2008 after 54 years of marriage. She retired from Elmira Stamping after many years of service. Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rodney May, Elmira; a son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Audrey McQuay, Ten Mile, TN; three granddaughters, Michele Miles and Amanda Miles of Elmira, and Jennifer McQuay, TN; her beloved great-grandson, Nicholas Amentler, who brought her immeasurable joy during her last months; sisters, Norine Jenner, Halstead, PA, Janice (Thomas) Dlugosh, Palmyra, NY, and Wanda (Ralph) Depue, Great Bend, PA; a brother, Jim Edsell, Muncy, PA; several nieces, nephews and many family friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by brothers, Clarence Edsell and Clair Edsell and a sister, Grace Brown. It was Betty's wish there be no calling hours or services. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Assoc. in her memory; or the American Cancer Society in her husbands' memory.

i did not know this betty, but my name is also betty mcquay from fla. and my father was called mac. such a coincidence. wish i could have known her.may she rest in peace i know she will be missed.
