Marie and Patsy,

I didn't know your father that well. I had only met him a couple times at your moms house. He was so nice to me and we chatted for a while. We had fire fighting in common and he lit right up when he talked about it. I see the saddness in both of you and I wish i could do something or say something to take that pain away. Just know in time it will begin to ease. Know that he is always watching over you and your loved ones and that one day you will see him at heavens gate waiting to greet you into his arms. Give your Mom lots of hugs because she may be the rock that holds you together but she needs you both right now as well. My love and prayers go out to all of you and your familys.

Dad,
I am so broken hearted and many memories keep flooding in my mind.
Dad, YOU were always my HERO, my Inspiration, and though I made you sad at times through the years you always love me and I ALWAYS love you!! You chose me as a little girl and gave me a chance at life, what a special man you are Dad! I just wonder why? why this happened? but I know this... every day I live Dad YOU will live with me! I can't figure out how I can live with out you, I'm so lost... I will always remember when you would come home from work and I would tell mom to tell you I went to the mailbox as well as many more memories. Rest in peace Dad and I'll see you again one day and I love you to Eternity!!
Your little girl, Marie

For my mother, Sharon - In Memory of Floyd

"Better Before"

Mama, don't you cry
Dry the tears off from your eyes
I know how much he loved you
Though he didn't say goodbye

Mama, please don't be afraid
Better things are on the way
I know he's looking down now
Only a memory away

And if ever you get lonely
Just know that you can call me
To talk about the love that you once had
In sharing all your sorrow
Just know that by tomorrow
You won't feel quite as bad

If you let love - be the flame
That carries on the memory of his name
Let your heart - love again
Even though it will never be the same as before
Better before

-We'll miss you, Floyd. Please look after us and guide my mom through the rest of her days. Thank you for all the wonderful things you've done for this family. You will never be forgotten.

To my loving companion for the most wonderful last 14 years. How am I going to go on with the rest of my life? I don't understand why you were taken from me, but I'm dealing with it the best way I can, spending alot of time with my very loving family and your mom, along with your loving siblings. I am very, very sad at this time, but I'm trying to be strong for you because I know you would want me to be. I know that we will be together again someday and will look forward to that and hold onto that thought. Thank you for making me and my family a part of your life. You will always be considered a part of our lives. We will always miss you at our family get-togethers and you will be thought of and missed at these times. I love you always and forever!

Well, when this happens to any family member or friend we just cannot say all the right things. Uncle Floyd was a Very Big part of my younger life and that is how I will remember him. Always funny and loving. And yes the fire department and the big rigs but he went beyond that for me. He was and is a great uncle. All my love to his family and friends at this time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
