STEWART, Lulu Baker
Of Westminster, CA, longtime Elmira native and resident, passed peacefully in her sleep Monday, September 8, 2008, at 2:54 p.m. at the home of daughter, Janna Hazard of Agoura Hills, CA. She was being cared for by her daughters, Janna and Lori. She was born on March 17, 1928. Lulu was a member of the Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove, CA and volunteered hundreds of hours at the Cathedral as a tour guide and volunteer for the Glory of Christmas and Easter. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Lulu's name to the Crystal Cathedral Academy or other Crystal Cathedral ministry outreach programs of your choice. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Jackson Stewart, in 1994. She is survived by son, Fred Freedman and wife, Sue of Elmira; daughter, Janna Hazard and husband, Mike; and daughter, Lori Stewart Marchetta and husband, Fred of CA. Grandchildren include Geoffrey, Peter, Patty, Thomas, Jenna and Jack; and one great-grandson, Patrick. Her surviving family also includes brother, Ronnie Baker and wife, Cheryl of Gorham, NY; brother, Larry Baker and wife, Judy of Horseheads, NY; many Baker and Stewart nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friends, Judith Stiles, Holly, Jim, Alice, Wayne, and Tom, and their families.
