NOVACK, Anna A.
Age 83, of Big Flats, NY, formerly of Shamokin, died Friday evening, September 26, 2008, at Arnot Ogden Hospital, Elmira, NY, January 1, 1925 in Library, PA, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Katherine (Soubik) Poliniak. Anna lived the early part of her life in Shamokin, and was a 1943 graduate of Shamokin High School. For the past fifty years she was a resident of Big Flats, NY. On December 16, 1944, at Camp Springs Army Base in Virginia, she married Theodore Novack, who survives. She was a homemaker and also worked as an aerobics instructor. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elmira Heights, NY, Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, PA, and the St. Anna Society. Survivors in addition to her husband Theodore, include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Andrea and Larry Taylor, Big Flats, NY, Daria Berlin, Corning, NY, Marina Novack, Big Flats, NY, and Claudia and Bill Hopkins, Pine City, NY; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Divine Liturgy will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, with Rev. Mark Fesniak as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, PA. 17872.
