Carol J. Gordon
Age 50, of Elmira Heights, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Carol was born December 26, 1957, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Marian "Mimi" Howland Gordon. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her son, Samuel J. Gilboy and brother, Mark C. Gordon. Carol is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angelique and Kurtis Duryea of Florida, with their children, Joseph Wayne and Piper Anne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Rose Gordon of Elmira, Michael and Susan Gordon of Philadelphia, PA, Alan Scott Gordon of Elmira; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry and Daniel Grafius of Elmira, Janet Fagan of Waldorf, MD, Mary and Ken Cushion of Winnsboro, TX, Nancy and Mark Waggy of Crestview, FL, and Diane Burchard of Corning. Also surviving are aunts, Barbara McInerny of Elmira, and Betty Holmes of Chemung; former husband, and friend, Joseph Gilboy of Horseheads; dear friend, Art Caparula of Elmira Heights; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol was formerly employed at Country Inn & Suites in Horseheads. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, corner of W. Church and Columbia Sts., in Elmira on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear of Carol's death. She suffered so much here on earth. I know that Sam has taken her away from her suffering. They are reunited in heaven. I look forward to the day when we all will see them again, in peaceful repose.
