Florence Milunich Obituary
Age 79, of Elmira, NY, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Florence was born on May 28, 1929 in Elmira, daughter of the late William and Bertha (Bauman) Zimmer. Florence retired from Elmira City School District after many years of service as a cook. She was an avid craft maker and loved baking cookies with her grandchildren. Florence will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Marcia (John O'Donnell) Sassano of Wellsburg, NY, and Noreen (Ted) Watson of Elmira; sons, John (Janice) Milunich of Elmira and Daniel (Sandra) Milinuch of Crescent City, CA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband, John M. Milunich in 2000; grandson, Michael C. Watson in 1986; brothers, William and Ernest Zimmer. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, October 30, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Florence to the SPCA at 2435 State Rte #352, Elmira, NY 14903; or Food Bank of the Southern Tier at 945 County Rte #64, Elmira, NY 14903.
