THOMAS, Sammie Cal
Age 55, of 1426 Davis St., Elmira, NY. He was born February 16, 1952 in Little Rock, AK, son of the late Willie and Irene (Johnson) Thomas and died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, peacefully at home with his children at his side. He was predeceased by a son, Jasper; sisters, Rose and Odessa Thomas; and brothers, Gene, Walter and Alonzo Thomas; and is survived by his two daughters, Jill (Frank) Outing of Rochester, and Lisa of Elmira; three sons, Samuel (Wanda) of Rochester, Malcolm and Daniel of Elmira; two stepsons, Brian Thompkins of Penn Yan and Earl Reese of Rochester; brother and best friend, Leroy (Pat) of Lyons, NY; brothers, Theodus (Charlene) of Chicago, IL, J.W. of Little Rock, AK, and Clifford (Pam) of Lyons, NY; sisters, Gladys of Savannah, NY, Ilean (Leroy) of Savannah, NY, and Joyce of FL; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as friends. He is also survived by his special friend, Christine Ross of Elmira, and a very close friend and neighbor, Betty Wells of Elmira. He also leaves behind the mothers of his children, Judy Thompkins of Elmira, and Marie Coleman of Rochester. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday, October 6th at 11 a.m. in New Jerusalem Church, 1320 Lackawanna Ave., Elmira. Rev. Ella Wells will officiate. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
