Helen Kessing Obituary

KESSING, Helen I.
Age 86, of Millerton, PA, passed away Monday, November 12th, 2007, at home surrounded by her loving family. Helen was the daughter of the late Russell and Bessie Smith Forsyth. She was born March 4th, 1921 in Altoona, PA. Surviving her is her beloved husband of 66 years, Francis Kessing of Millerton; sons, Russell (Kim) Kessing of Green Valley, AZ, Bob (Rachel) Kessing of DuBois, PA, Paul (Rita) Kessing of Andover, CT; daughters, Kathy Kessing of Millerton, PA, Ginny (Mike) Sheehe of Elmira; sons, Jerry (Blanche) Kessing of Mansfield, PA, Frank (Shelly) Kessing of Millerton, PA; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Russ Forsyth and William Forsyth, both of TX; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Reverend Barnardine Kessing of Boston; special friends, Charlotte Brown and Linda Noble of Millerton, PA. Helen was predeceased by daughter, Pat Ham; grandson, Frank Kessing; sisters, Betty Clark, Frances Barry. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904, Thursday, November 15th, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, NY, Friday, November 16th, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Jeff Tunnicliff will officiate. Graveside committal services will follow the Mass in St. Peters and Pauls Cemetery. Helen was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary's Church. She spent her life loving and raising her wonderful family. She loved to quilt and thinking of others through cards of sympathy or words of encouragement. Those wishing may make memorials to the Guthrie Hospice or St. Mary's Church. I will always treasure our memories we shared together.I thank you for allowing me to feel like a part of a real family. I promise to take good care of your baby (Frank).
