Alton Payne Obituary

PAYNE, Alton C. "Al"
Age 91, of Lodi, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, November 16, 2007. Al was born September 27, 1916, a son of the late Willet and Ruby Hawley Payne. He retired from Bendix and served this country with the US Army during WWII. Al was an avid fisherman. He was predeceased by brothers, Walter Payne and Merle Payne; sister, Leola Robinson; and grandson, Dean Guyer. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Doris Knapp Payne; children: Donna Guyer of Cape Coral, FL, Gary Payne of Erin, NY, and Ronald (Peggy) Payne of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Douglas, Jennifer, Carolyn, and Christopher; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Berdina Germaine and Evelyn Rittenhouse, both of Lake Placid, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY 607-739-2035 from 1-4 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2007. Al's Funeral Service will take place at the conclusion of hours. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear of Al's (Mr Payne's) passing. We will dearly miss seeing him in the summer- especially my three children Maren, Jaden and Molly- they all loved to visit with Mr Payne.
I will always think of him as the most devoted loving husband-
