“Tess’ was my Mother. She was truly a remarkable woman. She taught me
many, many things that have helped me my entire life. I could write a book about her amazing contributions. The top of the list would be love, family and respect for others.

Mom's long stay in the nursing facility, though difficult, provided a unique time for me to become even closer to her. I treasure every trip I made to visit her over the last two 1/2 years: the silence, laughing, crying, singing, listening to music, and yes, even dancing for her. She engaged with each one of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in a way that made us feel singularly special and loved.
I am proud to have followed in her footsteps in her profession as a teacher. In turn, she taught me a lot from the mudane (ironing a shirt) to the profound (incredible courage). If you knew her, she remembered you and cherished your relationahip. She is the last of a generation; no one can take her place.

Mom certainly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the companionship of the teachers she worked with. She cared deeply about her students and was still talking about the students that she thought she made the biggest difference with.
Besides lots of love, Mom helped me play small fry basketball when Dad was against it. She taught proper table manners and good grammer which I appreciated later in life. Just one year ago she told me about laundering a favorite shirt for me every night (wow). She was a wonderful Mother.I will miss her greatly.

To all the O Brien family, my sympathies. Mrs. O' Brien taught me 40 years ago at Muldoon in Waverly. There is no better teacher than her. God Bless Mrs. O' Brien.

Teresa O'Brien was my grandmother. She was witty, incredibly intelligent, and had an amazing dedication to her family. We will miss her very much.
