Adelaide Lutes Obituary

Adelaide Savey Lutes and Norman Edward Lutes
Adelaide Savey Lutes, age 92, died Sunday evening, November 25, 2007, at Brookshire Nursing Center in Hillsborough. Mrs. Lutes was born on May 21, 1915 in Elmira, NY, to the late Eleanor and Fred Savoy, Sr. Mrs. Lutes attended Elmira schools, and was retired from Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital, where she was supervisor of the mailroom. Mrs. Lutes is survived by her son, Dennis S. Lutes and wife, Jean of Durham, NC; her daughter, Eleanor Giancola and husband, John of Yucaipa, CA; her granddaughter, Lisa Bobbitt and husband, Joshua of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Sheridan Bobbitt, Joshua Branch Bobbitt, IV, and Coleman Wood Bobbitt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Norman, who died in 2002. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2007, from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Father Steve Patti, OFM, of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will preside. Entombment will follow in the new Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit one hour before the service from 11:00-12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable. Norman Edward Lutes, age 85, died June 15, 2002 in Durham Regional Hospital in Durham, NC. Norman and Adelaide Savey Lutes were married for 64 years. A native of Elmira Heights, NY, he moved to Durham in 1996 from Sun City West, AZ. Mr. Lutes spent his career in sales with the S. M. Flickinger Co. in Elmira. A WWII Army veteran, he proudly served his country in both the European and Pacific Theatres. Funeral services were held June 18, 2002 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with Fr. David McBriar officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Durham, NC.
