Stuart Easton Obituary


EASTON, Stuart E.
A resident of the Pine City, NY community passed away on Sunday morning, November 25, 2007 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born on December 16, 1932 Stuart was the son of Charles & Florence Mahar Easton. In serving his country, Stuart served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He married Joan Sullivan on May 30, 1959 in Elmira at Sts. Peter & Paul's Church together they enjoyed 48 wonderful years. He was manager of Consolidated Freightways, Horseheads, NY for 25 years and then retired. Earlier, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for 17 years. His interests included spending time with his family, (especially summers at Keuka Lake) traveling, fishing and playing golf. Stuart was a faithful parishioner at St. Mary's Church. In addition to his loving wife and companion of 48 years, he is also survived by their three children, Craig, his son and wife, Sue Easton, Accord, NY; Mark, his son and wife Alison Easton, Newpaltz, NY; Dr. Caroline Easton Creighton, his daughter and her husband Jay Creighton, Madison, CT; grandchildren, Aimee, Amanda and Maxwell Stuart Easton and William Stuart Creighton. Stuart is also survived by his sister, Bea Brown and brother-in-law, Don Brown; sister, Margaret Morrell and brother-in-law, Don Morrell; a sister-in-law, Kay Easton. In addition to his parents, Stuart was predeceased by his brothers, Maxwell Easton and Robert Easton; father-in-law, John James Sullivan 1964 and mother-in-law, Antoinette Sullivan in 2002, a brother-in-law, John James Sullivan in 2004. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Wednesday November 28, 2007 between the hours of 2-5 p.m. A Thursday morning payer service will take place at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, Elmira, where full military honors will be accorded Mr. Stuart E. Easton.

Joan,
I was very sorry to read the news of Stuart's passing. I hadn't known
him for a long time, as others have, but the short time we were friends at the Garrett Miller Center was rewarding to me. He will be missed very much.
