Virginia Treat Obituary

TREAT, Virginia J. Black
"Ginny"
Of Elmira, died peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Ginny was born in Wellsville, NY to Paul D. and Mildred M. (Hower) Black on July 28, 1925. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Francis Homer Treat, Sr.; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas P. Treat of Vail, CO, Francis Homer, Jr., and Eileen Treat of Rochester, NY; daughter and son-in-low, Mary Lou and Dr. Richard K. Wesp of Stroudsburg, PA; granddaughters, Teresa Tramazzo, with husband Marc, Kathryn Mallanda, with husband Darryl, Rachel, Rebecca, and Emily Treat; grandson, Ryan T. Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Julia, Sara, and John Tramazzo; sister, Sister Camille Marie Black of Maryknoll, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Paul D. and Ann Black of Dansville, NY; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Ginny was a graduate of Dansville Central High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Class of 1947. She was a dedicated nurse at St. Joseph's where she served as Head Nurse on both the ICU and CCU units. Ginny was also a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Ginny may be directed to SPCA, Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903. Ginny's family would like to thank Kathy Lindsay and her staff for the special care given during her stay at St. Joseph's Hospital. Members of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni will meet at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. to form an honor guard for Ginny.
