Elmer Powell Obituary

POWELL, Elmer W.
Age 80, of Auburn, NY, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at home with his wife by his side. Elmer was born January 18, 1927 in Millville, PA, the son of the late John and Grace Robbins Powell. He was a resident of Auburn for the past 3 years, formerly of Alpine, NY. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Catharine, NY. He was a veteran having served with the US Navy. He is survived by his wife, Marian "Ginger" Woodhouse Powell, whom he married on February 15, 1946; son, Lance (Pamela) Powell of Red Creek; daughter, Kathy A. Smith of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren, Lance (Greta) Powell Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, George Powell of Red Creek, Christy (Thomas) Chapman of Painted Post, Luree (Douglas) Avery of Ashland, VA; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Oscar Powell; a son, Larry W. Powell; and a grandson, Brittan John Powell. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements made by Becker Funeral Home, Red Creek, NY.
