Jean Elwood Obituary
Age 68 of 166 Pearl Street in Corning, NY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 12, 2007 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Jean was born March 14, 1939 in Corning, NY the daughter of the late Murray and Pauline Christian Beckman Webster. She was also pre-deceased by her brother Ernest A. Beckman who passed away on January 9, 1994. Her mother had passed away in 1988. Jean was a member of The Glen Baptist Church in Watkins Glen, NY and served the Lord through music for many years and was always a witness for Him. She lived her life with quiet grace, unshakeable dignity, unending devotion to her family and friends, and boundless love for everyone. It is with heavy heart that we give this most beautiful soul back to GOD. It was Jean's wish that there be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jean's Funeral Services on Monday December 17, 2007 at 10 AM at Glen Baptist Church 3311 Reading Road Watkins Glen, NY with her Pastor Teddy Herron officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years Richard C. Elwood daughters and son-in-law: Cheryl Bubacz of Elmira, NY and Candace & Scott Mayhew of Charlotte, NC; sons and daughter-in-law: Lynn & Dawn Elwood of Nashville, TN and Richard D. Elwood of Elmira, NY; 4 grandchildren; Carolyn "Carrie" Pizorro of California and Dorothy Beckman of Naples, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Arrangements entrusted to the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY.
