Jeffery McGirt Obituary

JEFFERY MCGIRT

Jeffery McGirt, age 51, of Wilmington died Friday, March 20, 2009, in New Hanover County.

He was born June 10, 1957, in Laurinburg and was the son of Marie McGirt Lewallen of Maxton and the late Jack Chavis. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Sybil McGirt.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughter, Crystal McGirt of Wilmington, sons, Kevin McGirt of Louisiana and Jeffery A. McGirt of Wilmington; granddaughter, Kayla McGirt and brothers, Brandon McGirt of Maxton and Robert Lewallen of SC.

Jeffery loved his family and was loved in return. With his big smile and outgoing personality he never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and softball. Cherished memories of Jeff will forever remain in our hearts.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Wrightsville Avenue Church of God in Wilmington with Bishop Marvin T. Gwinn officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Crystal McGirt, c/o State Employee Credit Union, 3500 Converse Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

I knew Jeff, aka Uncle Buck when he was living at Yaupon "clean". I really thought he had it. He Loved 'dem TarHeels! I lost touch after he left Yaupon. / Some of his '025' buddies also send their condolences.
