WILBERT JACK MILLS

WILMINGTON -- Wilbert Jack Mills, 83, of Wilmington passed away on March 24, 2009. Jack was born in 1926 in Mebane, NC to the late Paul Greene Mills and Vera Gore Mills. He was a WWII veteran, PFC first Class in the 79th Military Govt. Co., in the US Army. Jack was a member-at-large at Middle Sound Advent Christ.

Jack is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Ronald Hobbs; four children, Peggy Prahl and husband, Gary, Jackie Sayyeau, Donald Mills and Donna Caudell and husband, Ben; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Billie Rae Shepard Mills.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM in Prospect Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Corky Horrell. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC and at other times at the home of Donna Caudell.

AT CHURCH JACK WAS ALWAYS THERE TO MEET YOU. ALWAYS SMILING AND ALWAYS READY TO HELP. HE LIVED THE WAY HE SMILED ALWAYS HAPPY ALWAYS FUNNY ALWAYS WITH THE LORD. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE KNOWN HIM HE WILL BE IN MY HEART FOREVER. BLESSING TO YOU AND THE FAMILY AND MAY JACKS WORDS OF WISDOM CARRY YOU THROUGH THIS TIME IN NEED

Jack was a wonderful person, neighbor and friend. He always cared for others and found peace in the Lord in the twilight years of his life. He will be missed by all whose lives that he touched.
