To the family and friends of Val Sandberg - my sincerest condolences. I had the privelige of working with Val the first time when she was at CWT and later during her career with AQUA. She was a truly warm person, with a ready smile and a 'can do' approach to everything. I liked her very much and was saddened to hear of her passing.

As a client through American Express I will miss having Val as a resource to turn too. I could always count on Val's patience. I never ended a phone conversation with Val without a huge smile on my face. My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family may they find peace in knowing that Val is in a better place and smiling down upon us all.

Val was a kind and loving person that will be greatly missed. She always had a contagious smile and laughter that was very dear to us and those around her. Working with her at ASPI and then as a client at Balboa Travel she always maintained a positive spirit, no matter the challenge. Our prayers go out to Brian and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss, My interactions with Val were alway's wonderful. The comments in this guest book are spot on. You could hear Val's smile through every conversation. A real people pleaser, and a Child of God. What a true Blessing Val was to me in the limited interactions we had.

I never met Valerie in person but I always pictured her with a beautiful smile based on her voice and positive approach. She was professional in every way and so helpful to her customers.
We were saddened to hear of her illness, and so sorry to hear that she's gone. May God give peace and comfort to her family and friends.

Val hired me and was my first manager at CWT. She was such a wonderful person to work for, she was always professional and had such an awesome work ethic. I think of her often at work as I am still working on the team she moved me on to. I will always remember Val, we spent time together on a few work trips, she always had time to go out and have fun. Val was a great mentor, manager, and friend. May God bless you and your family.

I had the honor of working with Val at CWT for many years. I got to know Val best during the time that we were cube mates. What struck me most about Val was what a dedicated worker she was and how that dedication was matched with an equal dose of humor and compassion for others. My condolences to Val's family, friends and co-workers, she will truly be missed.

When I think of Val, I instantly think “Greetings!” and I will never forget the years of working with her as a loyal customer & colleague. It was a gift to know her and to work with such an upbeat happy professional and a great confidant. I have so many wonderful memories of Val….one of the best was in Paris on a customer visit, I know I will never be able to walk into a Louis Vittion store anywhere without laughing hysterically about our shopping adventure. My boys will never forget Val, she took me to the sports store in the Mall of America to be sure I brought back the right team apparel (Vikings) for them after a long business trip. What a Cool Lady! Val was a very thoughtful person and touched everyone she knew in a special way. She wanted the best for everyone and was always reaching for the stars, now she is the brightest of them all! We will keep Brian and all of Val’s family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. She will be truly missed.

I only saw Val when she was a tiny baby. Val's mother was a close friend of my sister Bev. I had heard of the many wonderful things about Val and also of her illness. Brian my heart goes out to you and may god bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

As my manager at CWT, Val recognized and helped bring out strengths in me that were waiting for attention! She and I shared the same sense of humor and general outlook on life. A light has gone out in this lifetime but will shine brightly in the next.

Brian,
I am so deeply saddened to learn of your loss. Val was a former manager of mine when she and I worked together at Carlson Wagonlit Travel, but always a great friend, and mentor with a beautiful spirit with tremendous energy! I still have the engraved pen/pencil set she gave me at CWT. She is truly loved and will be greatly missed. Hugs all around to you and Val's Family!

I will always picture your beautiful smile & remember your fabulous laugh, Val. I think back on the times my family & I would come to Minnesota for the Holiday Season. My sisters, brother & I loved being at your parents' home. It was a magical time for me; the Christmas spirit was so alive in your home with your parents, brothers and also your Grandma & Grandpa Strueve, (please pardon any misspelling), and the beautiful snow outside! I cherish these memories of us as little girls & so admire the woman you became. Thank God you have peace now and may He continue to bless Brian, your Mom & Dad, Steve & Dan & all of your family with the grace to move through these difficult days. In loving memory, Your Cousin, Jean (Michaels) Pace

Dear Val & Brian: I will always remeber the fun times Charlie & I had with you two. The Twist & Squeal days up in Aitkin, to weekends out. We always had fun. I especially remember Val watching my daughters for me, baking cookies with them, (giving all the burnt cookies to Brian). I loved Val and so did my daughters. I will miss her dearly. Brian we are here for you.

Val was the daughter of one of my best friends so there is not much I didn't know about her. She was a daughter anyone would be proud of. My only regret is that you left way too early. There are a lot of empty hearts now but lots of good memories for friends and family.

Brian, we have both lost our spouses and know your grief. We pray you can accept God's Will and remember the good times.

VAL,
God looked around his garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain.
And he knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, He closed your tired eyes, He whispered to you "PEACE BE THINE" and gave you wings to fly.
You have left us precious memories, your love, kindness, and strength will be our guide.
Your spirit will live on forever, Your're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
On the day God called you home.

I worked closely with Val during my two years at ASPI. She was a hard worker and we had much in common and I felt close to her and seemed to bond quickly. I am so sorry I didn't stay in touch after I left. I can only hope she didn't suffer too much. Through my ASPI friends I tried to keep in touch and knew she was putting up a valiant fight still working through the pain, so very typical of Val's spirit. I'll miss her, as I know her friends and family do. Rest peacefully, Val. missed.

Val, In the short time you were with us, you showed so many how to live a full life with great optimism, sense of humor and contagious smiles. To meet her was to know you had a friend forever.. She welcomed new people into her heart with the greatest of warmth and love. I was one of those lucky people to meet here thru my sister (Sheila) and Charlie at a yearly party and she was truely caring and loving to all. Years passed and no contact but then she came to my neices graduation still carrying that bright smile. One year ago I heard the news that she was ill and I prayed to God to not take this fine lady, but to heal her, as she had touched so many hearts. I know you fought, but; the battle was to much to endure and now you are at peace. My memories of you are treasures to carry forever. Brian may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Val was, is my aunt. I didn't get to see her as much as I would've liked but she was always my favorite aunt. Her and Brian were always my favorites and I really regret not being able to see her before she passed but I know she's in a better place and that helps. I'll always remember her laughing and smiling and as the beautiful woman and incredible person that she was and always will be. I love you uncle Brian and you'll be in my prayers. Good-bye Aunt Val.
