I am very sorry for your loss. Rich was one of a kind. While he sometimes made moderating a bit of a challenge, you could "see" the twinkle in his eye. He loved to stir things up, but he did it in such a way that I couldn't help but smile.
I'm going to miss him. My sincere condolences to your family.

Dear Hyams family: I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Rich was an institution on the DIS boards. I became a member of the DIS community many years ago and all of my memories include Rich. I'm a devoted Boardwalk owner, so naturally he annoyed the living daylights out of me! :-) My heart goes out to your family. Words always fail at times like this. Rich will be missed. God bless.

So many times we go through life never knowing what kind of legacy we have created, or how we have touched the lives of others or what kind of a person we become... To me, Richard was text in a box on the internet, never meeting the man but over the last few years, I came to know him through his writings on the DIS. I came to know him as a good man, with passion in his heart and a wonderful and fresh way of looking at life. There are so few people like him on Earth and we have lost a good and gentle soul. He will never be forgotten...

I am still in shock and deeply saddened by the loss of Rich. He always had such wonderful wit and humor when it came to discussion about the true one and only DVC Resort on the DIS. Rich added much spice to my life via the DIS boards. I missed him the last few months and was very saddened to learn of his death. He was an exceedingly bright individual who knew his stuff, and had a great sense of humor. I am glad he touched my life.

Rich was such a vital part of our online family. He will truly be missed on the DIS. His posts were always guaranteed to solicit a reaction, and it was fun to see what that reaction would be.
