PARRISH, Charlotte Evans NeilAge 80 of Donelson, TN. She died quietly in her sleep on the morning of February 17, 2009 at the Alive Hospice unit at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN, which was her decision and choice, respected and supported by her children. A life-long participant in the United Methodist Church since her residence in Scottsville, KY as a child, she was at peace when she passed away. Her work experiences were exceptionally wide, ranging from service as a teacher in a one room school house, multiple journalism oriented positions, self educated and fluent in geological and engineering vocations and avocations dedicated to support of her husband's career as an engineer, geological and mining exploration. Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Aunt Charlotte will be greatly missed but never forgotten.....

Charlotte used to call me her eyes. We had many delightful conversations and shared stories of earlier times. She was a joy to work with and I considered her a true friend.
We will surely miss her.

I am proud to have been called "Charlotte" for the last 53 years...My grandmother, Ninnie, grandfather, Big Daddy and my parents have all called me that, even though my name is Dana. They all said I was just like her. That is a huge compliment...she was a leader, smart, articulate, funny, pretty and mostly shared all she had with her fellow man. She was a good daughter,a good sister, a good wife, and a good mother, grandmother and great grandmother...I hope the same is said of me someday. I am a better person for knowing and loving my Aunt Charlotte Evans Neil Parrish!!!!

A list of my fondest childhood memories would certainly be incomplete without including the summer vacations that my family took to Kentucky. It was then that I recall being mesmerized by Aunt Charlotte's impeccable memory and unwavering pride in her heritage. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

I love the way Aunt Charlotte loved words, pulling them together into stories, and emphasizing her point by lowering her voice to a whisper. She's proof that there's no such thing as an overactive curiosity.
