Samuel Frederick Sanger

SANGER, Samuel Frederick, 94, of Blackstone, died August 9, 2008 at his home. He was predeceased by his wife, Mollie Fletcher Walker Sanger; and a granddaughter, Meg Hawley. He is survived by a son, S.F. "Fred" Sanger Jr. and wife, Carol, of Blackstone; daughters, Lucy Robinson and husband, Doug, of Big Stone Gap, and Jamie S. Hawley and husband, Gary, of Blackstone; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth E. Sanger and Elizabeth Spitler; five nieces and four nephews. A memorial service will be held at Crenshaw United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 12, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crenshaw United Methodist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
