Shirley Fitzgerald Fitzhugh

FITZHUGH, Shirley Fitzgerald, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 10, 2008. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. William Bateman FitzHugh; and daughter, Shirley Louise FitzHugh. She is survived by her loving sister, Jeanne Fitzgerald Wood; and her three children and their spouses, William Coberth FitzHugh and wife, Jan, Susan FitzHugh Elliott and husband, Steven, and John Fitzgerald FitzHugh and wife, Cassell; and grandchildren, Rebecca Rutherford and husband, Scott, and Steven, Tyler, Mark, Peyton, Campbell, Cassell, Mason; and great-grandchildren, Scotty and Jackson. She was a sweet and wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., and afterwards the family will receive friends at the home of Donald and Mary Lewis Register at 9314 Cragmont Dr., Richmond, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund for William Bateman FitzHugh c/o MCV Foundation, P.O. Box 980234, Richmond, Va. 23298.
