Was a Childhood friend ..when him,tony, candy and their mom and Dad moved over on Concord ,Ave in Rva....very nice family ...we all rode bikes together ...me ...mike David and Renee Stevens....we lost our David sept ,13th 2007....both are missed and respect to all...

I just want to say that David was my first boyfriend, way back in 1977 and he and his family were very loving and giving people. I remember going to school with him and his sis Candy, at Fairfield Middle, they were some good times and memories. I remember his smiles and joking personality that made me like him so much. I wish i could have come to the funeral and met his wife and son, but i'm just now hearing about it, i'm glad he lived a happy life, even though it was short lived here on earth. To his wife and son, may David and God always be with yal. From a dear old friend from the past.

Penny & Dallas,
I love you both very much and David was so proud to be your husband and Dallas's Dad. Love brought you together and love will get you through it. It's true when they say the good die young. David was a great man and brother and we are all going to miss him. We have to remember his jokes, his smile, and all the good times. That is what he would want us to do. He brought joy and laughter to so many people and we are all better for knowing him. I really believe God is with him and he has found peace. I am so sorry to hear about David, we have known David for many years, as you know he grew up with Rodney. David was always a happy, smiling, cheerful person. We are very sorry we couldn't make it to the Chapel yesterday, even though we weren't there, you were in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all, and we pray God will ease your pain. I am very saddened by the loss of such a great man and I send my deepest condolences to the many, many people who knew and loved David. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, he loved his music, but most of all, HE LOVED his FAMILY immensely and that was obvious to anyone that had ever had the pleasure of knowing David. Our dear friend we love you so much. So many years of love, laughter and tears we have shared especially when the Washington Redskins played the Dallas Cowboys. The games will never be the same without you "smacking" Lonnie every 5 minutes, however you will still be there with us at every single one of them. Tracy said she is really going to miss asking you "What do you want" when you call the house every 5 minutes. and not to worry about Dallas she will make sure he's ok. Daniel says "David don't worry about Penny I've got your back Man". Lonnie says "slob" I love you and will miss you dearly. Donna says "whatever Dave, whatever".

To the Godsey Family,
I am sadden to know that my partner has left earth and settled in heaven with God. I have been constantly thinking about you and trying to contact you knowing something just was not right. We had so many good times together at RRHA, and there will never be a more creative,funny,enjoyable partner to have ever. Everywhere i went so did you, we did almost everything together during our 8 hour shift and i am truly going to miss seeing your face. We became separated 2 months ago when you decided to go to one location and i hit the bricks (Whitcomb Court) again. Who i'm i going to laugh at, who will tell a joke at the right moment and have me laughing until im red in the face. Alita ask me three days ago about you out of the blue, she adored you so much and laughed at everything you said. She told me to tell you that she is the only one that can call me "FatDaddy", but while you’re in heaven you can say it all you want. I wish i could have talked to you or saw you prior to your illness taking over and you taking your journey that we all have to travel. But maybe God wanted it this way. If there is anything you need Penny please do not hesitate to give me a call. David was like a brother to me and i am deeply sadden and will truly miss his presence. Love God, know that he only takes the best, and cherish the lovely memories of our beloved Brother.

Penny I am so very sorry for your lost of one of the best man in the world! I remember the first time you guys went out on a date. You were so scared but happy! He swept you off your feet and I knew then you guys would be together forever! We had some fun and good times when you'll lived in Jarrett Apartments. You need to remeber all those happy times and I am so very sorry ,but god only takes the good ones I found that out when I lost my papa! I will be at the funeral home and hope I can be there for you like you were for me when I was growing up. Belive or not you helped me alot and I looked up to you as a child because you were a very strong person and I just hope I can help you through this after all these years of being apart just know I am still your friend for life!!
