VIA, Hannah Dixon, 64, exchanged places between earth and glory on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Hannah was born in Newport News, Va., to Phillip and Blanche Dixon on July 24, 1944, the second of five siblings. She attended Livingston College, where she pursued a degree in secondary education, and worked in the Newport News School System before becoming ill for a lengthy period of her life. Hannah continued to live in the hearts of her devoted family. Hannah was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, and led an unswerving and devoted Christian life. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Edward L. Via; a daughter, Terri Anderson of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Eddie Via of Richmond, Va.; and devoted granddaughter, Raven Symone' Via of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Bobby Dixon of Washington, D.C., Rev. Willie L. Dixon (Vickie); one sister, Juanita Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind an extended family, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pecora Lipscomb, Rebecca White, Maria Motley (Willie), Edgar L. Via (Anita), Herman Via, Jeannette Via, Barbara Via, Ruby Watkins (Lawrence), Mary Watkins (George), Dewey Via (Florence), Sheree Via. Remains rest at the Carlton T. Brooks Funeral Home, 2200 Hull St. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall, 2737 Hungary Spring Rd. Elder Thomas officiating. No flowers please. All contributions to the National Diabetes Association. Family and friends attending services assemble at Kingdom Hall Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
