LEWIS, Wesley Thomas, 69, of Blackstone, a well-known, local electrical contractor for Nottoway and surrounding counties for over 50 years passed away on August 16, 2008. Wesley leaves behind his loving, supportive wife of 49 years, Jean Handy Lewis; and two sons, Wesley L. "Monty" and Bowman "Bo" Lewis, all of Blackstone; two grandsons, Justin Cody and Thomas Casey Lewis of Blackstone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Thomas Lewis. Also survived by four sisters and one brother, Doris Baughan and Nancy Wallace of Blackstone, Kathleen Davis of Dundas, Patricia Weese of Colonial Heights and Aubrey Lewis of Crewe. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008, Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Blackstone Baptist Church Building and Grounds Fund, 405 S. Wesley was a great man. He will surely be missed. I loved talking to him with that slow drawl and laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I will miss Wesley very much. I only knew him for a couple of years but wish it were longer - he was quite a guy. I am deeply sadden for the loss and my prayers go out to Wesley's family.
