Gladys Elliott Peace

PEACE, Gladys Elliott, 73, of Mechanicsville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer of which she fought with grace and a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and two brothers. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Kilgour and her husband, Guy Kevin, Norma Ring and her husband, Jimmy; two very special grandchildren that she adored, Stephanie Kay and Guy Kevin Kilgour Jr.; a sister, Mildred Jeter; and a brother, David Elliott; special nieces, nephews and cousins. Gladys worked for the Virginia Department of Taxation and retired in July 1991 with 43 years of service. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, a dear loving, kind christian mother, grandmother and friend, who will remain in our hearts forever. Her family will receive friends Sunday (today) August 24, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va 23231. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the chapel with interment to follow at Hanover Memorial Park Cemetery, 4447 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
