Theresa Louise Rand

RAND, Theresa Louise, 48, of Richmond, formerly of South Portland, Maine, went home unexpectedly to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. She was the loving and special daughter of Nelson "Randy" Rand and his companion, Peggy Norman, of Colonial Heights and Patty Chiasson Smith and stepdad, Edward Smith, of Standish, Maine. She is survived by a sister, Sandra Ellen Barfield and her daughter, Carrie Lee, of Florida. Also, she leaves her closest best friend and confidant, Ken Kay, of Colonial Heights. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nelson II and Bruce Wayne. Terry leaves behind aunts and uncles, Wilber and Barbara Rand, and daughters, of Portland, Maine, Butch and Sheryl McDaniel of Standish, Maine, Sharon Darche of Westbrook, Maine, and several cousins in Maine and Virginia. Terry had a real love for all dogs and cats, volunteering always and advocating for each. She leaves behind many friends. She devoted her life to helping others in anyway possible and will be fondly missed by family, friends, and many little creatures. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Cremation and Burial Society of Va., 1927 Westmoreland St., Richmond.
