Kermit L. "Snake" Rasnake

RASNAKE, Kermit L. "Snake", of Powhatan, born August 5, 1936, died August 30, 2008. He retired from Dominion Virginia Power after 34 years of service and worked at Northern Tool & Equipment for three years. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Beverly B. Rasnake; one brother, James Rasnake and his wife, Judy of Culpeper; his daughters, Sheila H. Crane and her husband, Tyler of Bon Air, and Sherri R. Eng and her husband, Garwin of Norfolk; five grandsons, Taylor and Connor Harris, Jacob Eng, and Tyrell and Ray Crane; mother-in-law, Dorothy Buckley of Locust Grove; brother-in-law, Tom Buckley of Locust Grove; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sharon and Mark McMahon of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Linda and James Wetsel of Reva, Va., Bonnie and Mark Throneburg of Woodstock, Va., and Susie Buckley and Sandra Chustz of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Salisbury. Special thanks to doctors and nurses, Hospice of Virginia, The Virginia Cancer Institute, and Hawthorne Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either The Hawthorne Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
