Jerry Nan Rasnake 83 of Musick Bottom,
Delbarton, WV went to her Heavenly home on September 25, 2025 while surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1942 in Logan County, WV, the biological daughter of the late Eula "Bobbie" Ray. Jerry was loved and raised as their own daughter by the late Dewey and Beulah Ray Crum of Grafton, OH, formerly of Chauncey, WV and Pigeon Creek, WV. Jerry was also preceded in death by brothers, Marshall and Timmy Crum and sister, Bobbie Brunning. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, the love of her life, Willis "Gene" Rasnake. Jerry and Gene were married 66 years ago on June 8, 1959 and are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Her children left behind to cherish the memory of their mother include, Suzanna (Brock) Sulligan and her husband Robert of Cleveland, TN, David Gene Rasnake and his wife, Alicia of Musick Bottom, WV, and Michele Lee Evans and her husband Bob of Pie, WV. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brent Rasnake and wife Amber, Brittany Rasnake, Tristan Brock, Krista Brock and Bobby Gene Evans and wife, Melissa. Great grandchildren include, Keylee Brock, Chase and River Evans and Noah, Duke and Maisyn Rasnake, Aria and Aaron. Brothers, Mike (Rene Crum, Terry Crum, Greg Crum and Barry (Diana) Crum and 3 sisters, Sandy (Mike) Foose, Sheila (Paul) Kish and Penny (Bobby) Kish, sister-in-law, Anita Crum and brother-in-law, Jim Brunning and special friend and neighbor, Saundra Murphy who was her friend since their days in junior high school. In her early years, Jerry worked as an observer. She would climb to the top of the Mingo County Fire Tower on Horsepen Mountain and watch for forest fires. Thereafter, she was employed in the bakery department at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in S. Williamson, KY where she learned to bake and decorate cakes. After leaving Piggly Wiggly, she then went to work for a short period of time also in the bakery department at Kroger grocery store in S. Williamson. Jerry also worked in the Bible Study Division of RA West Ministries for two years. During what time she was employed and after employment, Jerry began baking and selling cakes from her home, as well as catering. She truly enjoyed decorating cakes and the happiness that it brought to others. She was known for her specialty of wedding cakes and her children as well as other family and close friends were blessed to have her bake for them. Jerry also mastered the art of sewing and was a seamstress for many people. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and her precious grandchildren. She always loved flowers and enjoyed receiving them as well as planting them. In later years she loved bird watching from her living room window where she could see the numerous birds eating from the feeders in her front yard amongst the many flowers she had planted. She always looked forward to the blooming of the Easter lilies as well as her beautiful roses. Jerry had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. Her favorite was cat fishing on Douglas Lake. She found great joy in entertaining and cooking for her friends and family, which she did numerous times while at her home in Dandridge where she and her husband Gene spent their summer s for several years. She was a marvelous cook and host that always made you feel welcome. Jerry was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the Church of God at Varney, WV where she raised her children and she enjoyed old fashioned Christian singing. In the early years of her attending the church, Jerry taught Sunday school and loved doing the Christmas plays as well as sewing some of the costumes. She loved to read and had many books, but her Bible was the one she treasured most of all, reading and putting God's word in her heart. Jerry will be greatly missed all who knew and loved her. She had a special place in her heart for her family. Graveside services will be held at the Highland Memorial Gardens at Logan, WV with Rev. Gary Starr officiating at 12:00pm. Burial will follow. She will be carried to her resting place by her son and grandsons, David, Brent, Noah and Duke Rasnake, Bob, Bobby Gene and Chase Evans and Tristan Brock, where her body will rest while her spirit lives on with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
