Farris Funeral Service, Inc. – Main Street ChapelLinda Ellen Barrells Rasnake, age 80, went to be with our Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 27, 2026.
She was born in Detroit, MI on March 19, 1946. In 1976 she and her husband and children moved to Abingdon, VA.
For over 50 years Linda was a faithful member of Abingdon First Assembly of God. She was an active member of the Women’s Ministry, and she added her beautiful soprano voice to the choir. Linda shared her faith in the way she lived her life (Proverbs 31).
Linda never failed to encourage others through her poems, cards, calls, and countless banana nut breads, brownies, and peanut butter cookies. Eighty years of loving God, her family and others before herself cannot be condensed to a few paragraphs.
Isaiah 40:31 was Linda’s favorite scripture, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” Linda will be missed by all who knew her, but she and her love for the Lord and others will never be forgotten.
Linda is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Kemper B. Rasnake; her daughter, Melissa Rasnake Sautters; sons, Scott Rasnake and wife Lora, and Steve Rasnake; grandchildren Kaylee Duff Rasnake, Madison Drey and husband Devon, Alexa Henry and husband Eli, Reed Rasnake, Alyssa Maiden, and Ellen Sautters; sister Debra Jones and brother Robert Brandes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Mae Barrells, her brothers Sonny and David Barrells, her daughter in-law Angela Rasnake, and brother in-law Roger Jones.
The funeral services for Linda will be held at Abingdon First Assembly of God on Saturday, April 4th, 2026. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with service immediately after. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Melissa Sautters, Scott Rasnake, Steve Rasnake, Reed Rasnake, Bob Boothe, Keith Allison, Ashton Allison and Kyle Allison.
The Family of Linda Rasnake is being cared for by Farris Funeral Service & Crematory – Main Street Location 427, E. Main Street Abingdon, Va 276-623-2700.
