SPARKS, Harold, 94, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Barron Sparks. He is survived by his daughter, Linda S. Canada of Arizona; his sister, Helen Fulcher of Bethlehem, Pa.; two granddaughters, Joan Gallob of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Claire Pallagi of Gilbert, Arizona; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Sparks was born September 2, 1913 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and DeMolay. He was named Civitan of the Year in 1966 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. During the 1950s and 1960s, he was a commercial artist in Chicago, Illinois. He served as a purchasing agent, and also worked for Oceanview Memorial Hospital Foundation in Myrtle Beach, S.C., until his retirement. Mr. Sparks' family would also like to recognize, with great appreciation, Mrs. Lillie Brinklow, who served for many years as the family caregiver.
