To the family of Delores Estes
Deepest sympathy and prayers are extended to you during the home going of your loved one. I first met Estes when I was employed at McGuire VA Hospital where she worked as a nurse on the Dialysis Unit - I was a CNA on the Med Surg Unit and at that time, inaddition to working at the VA Hospital, I was also attending classes to become a registered nurse. Through another nurse, Ruth Stevens, RN, Estes and I became friends and she was such an inspiration whenever I was in her company. During my time at the VA Hospital I substained a back ingury while providing services to a patient and had to undergo back surgery. On the morning following my surgery, Estes telephoned me as she was departing her 12am-8am shift at the VA and asked if she could come to Henrico Doctor's Hospital and provide nursing care for me. Initially, I told her no because I knew she was tired from working allnight. Estes was presistent and came to the hospital that morning anyway and provided the nursing care and and inspiration that I needed. While recuperating from my back surgery, Estes came to the hospital every day and cared for me. It was because of her that I recovered from the surgery which I was afraid to undergo. I think of that time often and remember the love and care that my friend Estes provided at such a needed time. I did not retrun to the VA after recovering from my surgery but our relationship continued as I pursued another profession. Estes and I would talk with each other via the telephone often and run into each other while shopping or at Ukrops. She was always cheerful and encouraging Estes. Estes had the brightest smile! Please know that to be absent in the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. She has transitioned this world and is with her creater where life is everlasting. I pray that God will comfort you during your time of loss. May our heavenly father continue to bless, strengthen, and keep you. I will forever remember Estes smile and her loving and kindness towards me. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be a recipient of her friendship, kindness and love.

Davis, Charade & the girls,
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family on the loss of your mother. I truly understand what you're going through having lost my father earlier this year. There is one thing I can share with you - God is too wise to make a mistake! Know that your mother is no longer in pain and she has rec'd her reward. Although the many of your days here will be filled with sorrow over the loss of your loved one, remember that if we believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we shall be reunited with all of our loved ones in glory. There is a book on grieving that is excellant entitled "Traveling through Grief" by Susan J. Zonnebelt-Smeenge and Robert C. De Vries.
I love you all and God does too!
Call a sista if you need to talk.

Grandma Lo:
"We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the the Lord, will certainly not perceed those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air."
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
I love you, I miss you, and I will see you again.
Love, Chelsea

To the Estes Family,
Your Mother is gone away for now but she is in a much better place. She is smiling down upon you and trying to let you know that she is going to be all right. So wipe your tears and think about all the good times you have had throughout. She was a wonderful lady who loved you all dearly.
