Virginia Hargrove Fulghum Motley

MOTLEY, Virginia Hargrove Fulghum, age 94, of Richmond, widow of William Lewis Motley, died September 8, 2008. She was born in Louisburg, N.C., the daughter of the late James B. Fulghum and Virginia Ridout Fulghum. She was predeceased by her brothers, James Lee Fulghum, Jesse Dean Fulghum and James Elijah Fulghum; and her sisters, Kathleen F. Davis and Bertha F. Wray. She is survived by her sons, Donald Lee Motley and his wife, Marlene S. Motley, and William L. Motley Jr., all of Richmond; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her sisters-in-law, Jacolyn H. Fulghum, Elsie B. Motley, Ann M. Gray and Mary June M. Jarrett. She was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. Her remains rest at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fulghum Trust, Central United Methodist Church, 1213 Porter St., Richmond, Va. 23224.
