To Sylvia and Family…
There's a place
I've never seen
beyond this world we know,
A place I've only heard of
but someday hope to go -
It's not on any map,
there are no roads
to take me there,
But it's a place of perfect peace
where hearts are free from care.
And though I understand
some may be saddened
when I leave,
One day, we all will meet again -
that's what I believe...
When it's time to travel there,
I think I'll wear a smile,
I'll say good-bye to those I love,
but only for a while,
Knowing there are others
who have traveled there alone,
Who cannot wait to greet me
and to whisper "welcome home."
May you find peace in the thought
that Uncle Kelvin
is in a better place.

To Sylvia and Family;
It's January 12, 2009 here in Johannesburg, middle of summer, hot. I was thinking about Kelvin, the fun we used to have when we were kids, how I spent the night at Uncle Jesse's house, how close we were, what a good guy he was. So I decided to make my entry. I want to offer you my deepest heartfelt condolences and assure you that he will always be a part of my memories and my love.

My condolences be with you all, I had the pleasure of working with Mr Kelvin during Katrina with FEMA. I was looking forward to meeting up with him after the Gustav disaster, well Mr Kelvin I will see u again. God has called u home my friend and said to u well done. I remembered Kelvin from when I worked at the Department of Environmental Quality in Richmond, Virginia. He was a very nice person.

Sylvia and family, Kelvin will always be in my heart. We grew up together living one backdoor behind each other. Kelvin was a great friend. Sylvia you have always said no Vickie, we are family. I am so sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure to have known Kevin. I worked with Kevin when he was employed with DEQ and would run across him every now and then when he left. He always had a smile on his face no matter what the situation was. He will be truly missed.
