Troy Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS, Troy L. Sr., 76, of Center Cross, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008. A former employee of VDOT, he was a POW of the Korean War for 33 months. Troy was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, NRA and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beulah Clay Williams; two sons, Troy L. Williams Jr. of Baltimore, Md. and Daniel W. Williams of Callao; two half-brothers; two half-sisters; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Full military honors will be held at the graveside in Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danny Landrum Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, 9918 Channing Circle, Richmond, Va. 23235; or the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, P.O. Box 49, Annandale, Va. 22003.
