Annie Sadler Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Sep. 16 to Sep. 17, 2008.
SADLER, Annie P., 91 wonderful years, of Chesterfield County, departed this life September 14, 2008. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thaddus Colley; and her second husband, Joe Sadler. She is survived by her children, Tom Colley and his wife, Maxine, Carole Johnson and her husband, Inman, Jane Sadler Brittingham and Jo Ann Mulligan and her husband, Craig; grandchildren, Brian Snipes, Sandra Snipes, Frank Giardina, Keith Colley, Jerry Wright, Christel Wright and Chris Mulligan; and her great-granddaughter, Annie Mulligan, her namesake. She was a longtime member of Providence United Methodist Church where she taught many years of Sunday school as well as a member of a quilters club. Her love for her family sustained her as well as us. "29." If you knew our Mom, you knew that that was an important number to her, surpassed only by "4," the number of her children; "7," the number of her grandchildren; and "1," the number of her great-grandchild. She continually beat the odds and will always remain "29." There is no way anyone who spent time with her could ever forget her. Through everything she always had a smile and something humorous to say to help you along. Annie's family wishes to express their sincerest and heartfelt thanks to the nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for the loving and tender care given to her in her final days. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday at Providence United Methodist Church, 901 S. Providence Road. Interment Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Providence United Methodist Church.

We heard about Annie's passing this morning at our quilt meeting. We talked about her smile, her laughter and how she loved going on all our "mini" trips. Our prayers are with all of you, the Providence Quilt Buddies

Jo Ann,
I was really sorry to hear about your Mother's passing.
I know that you will miss her but know that she is in a beautiful place now. My mother passed a month ago and it has been really hard for me but I know that she is peaceful and in a wonderful place now.
I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
