TO: BRANDON, DESIREE, AUTHUR CHARMAINE, CHICO & THE ENTIRE ROOTS FAMILY:
YOU HAVE OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES FOR THE PASSING OF YOUR BELOVED MOTHER. SHE HAS GONE TO GET HER REWARD FOR A LIFE WELL LIVED. IN THE WORDS OF THE POET:

"A Life Well Lived"
is a precious gift of hope and strength and grace from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place.
It's filled with moments sweet and sad,
with smiles and
sometimes tears with friendship formed and good times shared and laughter
through the years.
A life well-lived is a legacy of joy and pride and pleasure, a loving, lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

To Desiree and The Entire Roots Family:

My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time. Mother Roots as I knew her was indeed a woman of God. She was sweet, loving and a caring mother not to just to her own but to all who knew her. I can see her now dancing with her father in heaven and singing the songs of zion. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing the songs of praise to her Lord God. She will be truly missed but never ever forgotten. She fought a good fight and have finished her course and she truly kept the faith. Keep leaning on the One who will see you through and we will see her again.

Love you and God Bless

Dear Rev. Roots, Brandon & Family:

God has called another one of His song birds home to sing in His heavenly choir. Your mother and I use to talk frequently, until her last illness. She will be truely missed for her mild sweet demeanor and her Christian love.

Our conversations use to last for hours, although we didn't see one another often. The joy of talking with her was so invigorating. She always left me feeling better about myself and the things that we discussed.

As I pray for your strength in the Lord, I pray that you will know that she is not lost - she is home with God. May you take solace that one day, we will see her again, when we cross over the bar.

May God bless you and keep you as you remember the wonderful life that she lived and impact that she had on so many other's lives.

My Dear Desiree and Family;
I was truly saddened to hear of your Mother's transition out of your lives. But I am happy to know that she is resting and pain free with our Lord. Anytime we lose a parent is difficult and tumultuous. But faith has a way of giving comfort to a heavy heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you struggle to face life with out your Mom. But from all accounts she was a rock to you as you all will now be to your children. Your pictures, memories and stories will keep her alive in your hearts forever.
My God's continued love and blessings bring you peace. Please take comfort in knowing that others are thinking of you and praying for your strength.
Sincerely, spiritually and musically yours,

Dear Mr. Roots (Chico),

We haven't known each other very long - yet I feel I know your mother through Nicora and John Patrick and things they have told me about Sarah. They said she was very smart and very close to God. I feel sad that I will never get to meet her. Sean Patrick (6 mos.) and I were praying for her the other day and I told him his great grandmother was always going to be praying for him in heaven. He won't remember this now, but I will remind him as he gets older.

You and your family are very much in my prayers and in my heart.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Roots. She was an awesome human being and loved all of her children. However, she was not afraid to meet her master. May God continue to bless each and every one of you throughout this difficult time.

Dear Chico, Charmaine, Arthur, Brandon and Dee Dee:

Words are difficult to express at this hour for someone who you have known your entire life and has been as close as your own mother. Our families ties precede our own existence and have sustained themselves throughout the years.

The dictionary does not possess the appropriate adjectives to describe your mother. She was a gentle and gracious LADY. She was always cheerful and made herself available, even if she wasn’t at her zenith. It was always cheerful to hear from her and receive something inspirational to lift the spirit.

God has called home, a faithful and loving servant. In one of our last discussions it centered around, her deep love of God, she gave Him “Total Praise”. Her relationship with her Heavenly Father surpassed her earthly trials and tribulations. It was because of the tests, she had a testimony.

She abided in the will of the Lord. She was a woman of purpose. She was a strong contributor and asset to her home, community and her church. She managed her affairs well and above all else, she was God-fearing. She exemplified the very way her Heavenly Father would have had her to be.

Know that your mother is at peace and she now lives on through you and your children. Others will see her strength and kindness through their interactions with you. The impression of music has had a distinct impression on many of you from your father, as well, as the delivery of the Word frim your paternal grandfather. We become our fathers and mothers and often times better to their credit. Continue to represent them proudly.

Your mother's ordered steps have now ceased. She has now joined that Heavenly choir. She is now victorious. Upon her transition, she was greeted at the Pearly Gates after signing the Lambs Book of God, by her “Beloved Jimmy”.

Lean not on your own understanding but on the foundation that your mother and father have instilled in you. Cast your burdens on the Lord. Your rich spiritual heritage should be your underpinning and your anchor shall be the Lord!

You remain in our prayers.

Desiree,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family for the lost of your mother.
I'll always remember her on our earlier engagements, her face smiling, as we played her favorite songs!
She's with God now, smiling for Him!

"Don't weep for me, He called me
home, He sent his ship for me.
Just stand on shore and wave
to me as I sail across the sea!"

May you find peace and comfort in God's everlasting love.
