Margaret Hastings Hope

HOPE, Margaret Hastings, 88, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, surrounded by her beloved family. Her biggest lifetime achievement was caring for others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bryant W. Hope. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Cox and her husband, Bob, of Powhatan; a son, Wayne Hope and his wife, Debbie, their children, Chris, Shawn and Josh, and their grandson, Gavin; her grandchildren, Greg McMullin and his wife, Denise, of Alabama, Robin Mead and her husband, Eric, and Brian McMullin and his wife, Kathy, of Powhatan, and Chris Wayne Hope of California; six great-grandchildren, Bryant and Krista McMullin, Parker and Carson Mead and Brendan and Kendal McMullin. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Hastings of Richmond and Rosa Harris and Virginia Collins of North Carolina; many special nieces and nephews; and her special buddy, "Hopscotch" the dog. A memorial service will be held at May Memorial Baptist Church, Rte. 13, Powhatan, Va., Friday, September 26, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at her home in Powhatan following the service.
