Betty Updike was one of the finest people that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She made us feel so welcomed when we moved to Danville back in 2001. Whenever she walked into the room of a party or a committee meeting she was just a breath of fresh air and she was always so cheerful. She will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

What I remember most about Betty was her very pleasant disposition. The last time I saw her, which was just recently, she was bedridden and in pain but still smiling. What a wonderful outlook on life she had! And I never heard her say a bad word about anybody. It was such fun to be with her, and she will be sadly missed.

Leigh, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I have known you and your family since Children's Theatre, many years ago. Your Dad delivered my second child and your Mom has been a customer of mine at the bank for years. She was an amazingly beautiful and caring individual and I will miss her gracious ways and her endearing smile. Please know that my heart is heavy and that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
