OWENS, Elizabeth Cottrell "Betty", 88, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B. Owens Jr., and daughter, Carolyn Rae Owens. She is survived by daughter, Jeanne L. Dalton; son, Edward B. Owens III and wife, Liana; two sisters, Margaret Wirtz of Arizona and Diana Goble of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Kendall Hoffler, Leslie Dalton, Brandon Owens, and Heather Bastien; and five great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of Christ Ascension Episcopal Church, Richmond. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Sunday in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice.
