Virginia Taylor Obituary

TAYLOR, Virginia T., age 94, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away October 5, 2008 at her home. "Aunt Sue" was born June 13, 1914 in Sanford, N.C., and moved during World War II to Richmond, where she worked and retired from Crawford Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Guy L. Taylor; her parents, Lillie Gordon and Alexis Vernon Tomberlin; brothers, Earl, Roscoe, Brevard, Dewitt; and sisters, Leone Southern, Ruby Toone, Freda Wakefield Frank and Frances Bradley. She is survived by her nieces, Carolyn S. Fuqua and husband, Jim, of Hendersonville, N.C., Linda Southern of Sanford, N.C.; nephews, Elmer Gray Southern and wife, Linda, of Goldston, N.C., Jack Wakefield and wife, Kathy, of Picayune, Miss., Eddie Bradley of Lakeland, Fla.; and numerous relatives in Chesterfield of her late husband. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, Tuesday, October 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at Dale Memorial Park on Wednesday, October 8, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Ministry of Hopewell Methodist Church. The family extends grateful thanks to Sue's special caregivers during her declining years, Vernon Taylor, Carol Orcutt, Emma and Maynard Miller, and Marilyn Welch.
