BURNS, Guy Deaner, 85, of Chesterfield, left this world on Thursday, October 9, 2008. He was the son of the late Alma Deaner Burns. He was employed by DuPont as a Pipe Fitter and retired after 42 years of dedicated service at the age of 58. He was retired for 27 years and loved every minute of it. Guy was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving children, Gay Burns, Steven Burns and wife, Cathy, Susan Blakely and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Cameron and Cullen Burns; and last but not least, his loving cat, T-Bone. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral Home Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, October 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Lung Association. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Susan, I know you will miss your dad every day but I also know you have a million memories of him that will make you smile. I'm sorry I never got to meet him but I feel I got to know him just from hearing you talk about him. Deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Burns a few times and heard a lot of stories about him. He was a really nice and kind man. He lived a long and full life. His time has come to move on, but I know he love you all. I know that he will be greatly missed. I am praying for you all to make it through.
