GRIFFIN, Carmella P. "Millie," 86, passed away at Chestnut Grove Assisted Living Facility on October 9, 2008. Millie was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Billy" Griffin Jr., who was a longtime employee of Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroads. Millie was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church. She worked for Connecticut General and later retired from Sun Trust Bank. She is survived by two children, daughter, Patricia G. "Patsy" Pulley and her husband, J. Waverly Pulley III; and her son, William A. "Bill" Griffin III and Patti Madison; three grandchildren, Jennifer P. Bibbo and husband, Michael, LeeAnne P. Wright and husband, Jeff, and W. Ryan Pulley; four great-grandchildren, Sophia and Julia Bibbo and Griffin and Lucy Wright. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 3 to 5 p.m., with a service of reflection at 4 p.m. at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Virginia.

Millie was a member of my prayer group, and I loved her. She had a loving heart and happy spirit. May God give you precious memories of your sweet mother.
