JOHNSON, Janie Warren, of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Richmond for 40 years, passed away on October 8, 2008. She was preceded in death by Wilson Johnson Jr., her loving husband of 59 years; and her daughter, Linda Johnson Raines. She is survived by her daughter, Libby Johnson Rigby and her husband, Jerry, of LaGrange, Georgia; her son, Wilson Johnson and his wife, Anne, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew Warren Johnson and Catherine Faith Johnson; and her son-in-law, James L. Raines of Richmond. She is also survived by her sister, Olivia Hardison and her husband, Lewis, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; her sister-in-law, Martha Warren of Rich Square, North Carolina; her sister-in-law Charlotte Johnson Steele of Littleton, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson was born on November 13, 1922 in Northampton County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Dudley and Troy Warren. She graduated from Rich Square High School and attended Meredith College. She was a faithful church member throughout her life, serving as a children's Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. Most recently she was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond, where she served as a children's teacher and on various committees. She also worked as a pharmacy technician at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Bon Air Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and guests at the church prior to the service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, Georgia 30240, or Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Road, Richmond, Virginia 23235.

I just read the Obituary notice that was in the Richmond paper.My daughter e-mailed it to me. I have remembered you all thruout the past35 years and wondered how all were.Now I'm very saddened to know that your Mother ,Dad and sister are deceased.I still treasure my familyand my frienship with all of you. We loved Bon Air Church as we now do First Baptist in Greensboro.All of you are in my prayers. Billie Reeves

My parents, Joe and Billie Reeves were good friends with your parents in the 60's. Mom taught Sunday School with your Mom at Bon Air. Dad died of Alzhiemers in 2000. Mom is fine, and lives in Greensboro, NC. I am sorry for the loss of your parents and Linda. Fondly, Barbara Gendron
