JEFFERSON, Mrs. Alease E., of Richmond, departed this life October 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jefferson. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria West and Evelyn Thomas; three grandchildren, Hope Cotman, Terry West and Robert Jefferson; two great-grandchildren, Shakena Cotman and Teasia Jefferson; one great-great-grand-daughter, Leasia Cotman; one sister, Yvonne Thomas; two brothers, Robert and Willie May; two aunts, Hattie May and Elizabeth Meekins; one uncle, Jamie May; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Ann May and Elizabeth Jackson; one brother-in-law and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Earl Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Friday. Online condolences can be made at www.jenkinsjr.com.
