Marilyn Grosenick Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Oct. 22, 2008.
GROSENICK, Marilyn J., 70, of Richmond, passed away peacefully this week on October 18, 2008, from a brief struggle with lung cancer. She is survived by her son, Chris Grosenick and his wife, Robin, of Midlothian; daughter, Heidi Hertzog of Cloquet, Minn.; five grandsons, Ryan, Brandon and Jordan Grosenick, Zach and Josh Hertzog; brothers, Ed, Richard and Jim Peek; sister, Susan Paukert; also nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family of Scott and Mary Jarvis Futrell and their children, Mary Elizabeth, Patrick, Isaac and Christian. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 3:30 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Interment will be where she spent most of her life following a memorial service at the University of Minnesota in November. Dedicated to the well-being of the children of the world, Marilyn will be smiling if, instead of flowers, donations were made to the Children's Hospital of Richmond, St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity which cares in any way for children. Condolences may be made at mem.com.

It is hard to believe our Marilyn has been gone for a year. I have truly missed her.

Heide, I have lost your address and the E mail address I had doesn't go through. Please send me an E mail and let me know how you are and how to contact you. I am thinking of you, your family and Chris. Love, Susan Stephenson

Our sympathy to Chris and Heidi. We introduced your Mom and Dad back in the late 1950's. We last visited them about 1993. We're very sorry to hear of her passing

I just learned of Marilyn's passing a few minutes ago from a mutual friend. She and I worked closely together for many years at Blue Cross. She was a hard worker who took her job very seriously and did it well.

My heart goes out to her children, Chris and Heidi. I know Marilyn was proud of all of her family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Marilyn working with her for many years at Southern Health. She was exceptional at details and was known in the health care community for her excellent preparation of RFPs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a great attitude. She was a very special, caring person and friend. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. I wish my condolences to her family.

I worked with Marilyn many years ago at the Carolyn Marsh Personnel Agency. We have kept in touch through the years, and she was a delightful friend with a wonderful sense of humor. I shall certainly miss her and send my deepest sympathy to the family.
