Dorothy E. Grosenick, 90, passed away on October 6, 2025.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ewings and Rev. Nicholas Quinnett officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church for visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Lebanon, WI immediately following the service.
Dorothy Elsie Butler was born on July 17, 1935, to parents Edward and Esther (Rohloff) Butler. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1953. On October 1, 1955, Dorothy was united in marriage to Ernst Grosenick at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon, WI. She dedicated over 37 years of service to Johnson Controls before her retirement.
Dorothy was a devoted and active member of her community. She was proud to serve in the VFW Auxiliary and was also a member of Turner Hall Auxiliary, Plattdeutscher Hall Auxiliary, and the Wethonkitha Club. In addition, she enjoyed helping out with St. John's Ladies Aid.
Dorothy had a gift for crafts and especially enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was known for her sweet tooth and loved to sample her baked goods before sharing them with others. Dorothy also liked to spend time outdoors, tending to her garden and enjoying her flowers.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, DuWayne (Karen) Grosenick, Laurie (Jim Wilkes) Grosenick, and Christine (Bill) Wegner; 5 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ernst Grosenick; parents; and brother, Robert Butler.
