Joseph Woods Obituary

WOODS, Joseph P. Sr., 84, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2008. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly W. Howard. He is survived by his beloved wife, Viola S. Woods; daughter and son-in-law, Marilynn and Layne Howard; son, Joseph P. Woods Jr.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Butler, Mae Baker, Colean Johnson, Ethel Dunkum, Dorothy Badgett, Catherine Badgett; brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Woods. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the American Lung Association of Virginia, 9221 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23235.
